DAY 1 IN CHONG QING

So it was 3.30am in the morning,  I woke up to get ready to leave for the airport.
Apparently, the meeting time was 4.45 am, thus I was quite fortunate to stay near the airport.
I left home at 4am reached the airport at around 4.20am. And look who I saw there.

Yeboi. My friends actually stayed over at the airport to send me off early in the morning. Super thankful for that man. You guys da bombz.

Ofc I was thankful for my parents who came to send me off too uh XD.

Its 6.22 am and 1 group picture before we board the plane!!!

Glad to sit with my groupmates on the plane!

6.45am OFF WE GO!

Well, one of the things I look out for on the plane is definitely... It's FOODO

I was lucky to get the last serving of the egg sth sth bolognese but.. erm.. how do I put it, The main dish was supposed to be the egg, but it turns out that the bolognese and potatoes taste better than the egg itself. As for the other dish, I had no idea what it tasted like but my friend said that it was "okay only"

TOUCH DOWN @CHONGQING

<Took some pictures at the airport but can't seem to find it. OOPS>

So right after touchdown, we went to a nearby hotel restaurant for lunch!

TADAH

The table was this filled when we arrived

And slowly, it began piling up...

More and more.. Okay, I think I gave up at this point cos I could not find any more photos. But we counted 12 dishes during that meal.

NEXT STOP: Longxing Ancient Town (龙兴古镇)

I can never find this view in Singapore man.

Let's GO!

These are some of the things they sell there. Other than shops there were MANY houses hosting mahjong sessions.

THIS IS THE KIND OF MAHJONG TABLE THEY USE OKAYY. SO HIGH TECH SIA. 1 HOUSE GOT LIKE 6 or 7 TABLES SIA.

Oh yea I remember I took a picture here, mmmm guess I lost that pic :(

Okay, this is the "tree" of erm.. surnames. Well, basically, if u can find ur surname inside, you are somewhat linked to the emperor or sth the closer u are to the branch or stem, the closer your ancestors are to the emperor. SOMETHING LIKE THAT. Not too sure tho.

Oh yes, they sell fishies too. Some breeds here are rare in SG.

Chongqing Minguo Street (民国街)

Okay, next we went to this place called Minguo Street.

This is the people's liberation monument to commemorate the victory over the Japanese in world war two. This is a replicate of the real monument, The real one is located at Jie Fang Bei CBD.

Isn't the view magnificent?

Yea I tried.

While climbing the stairs at the left hill, I saw this on the floor. Not sure what it means tho.

Every single corner of this place is picturesque man...

"Nice right?";  "FASTER GO TAKE PICTURE WITH THE WALL"

Her pic vs mine... Guess being "natural" during photo-taking is still hard for me.

Bought this Glutinous milk from one of the shops and erm... I waited for 15 mins to get this. The auntie only starts to boil the water and prepare the ingredients after the order has been made... MM fresh I guess?

Since I waited for 15 mins, might as well waste another 15 seconds here right?

This Theater is SUPER popular here, so it's a MUST to take a picture here!

Seriously, isn't the view fantastic?

Okay back to food. If you look closely, this stall sells something like satay. Well, in fact, its mutton "satay". I mean they don't call it satay but it really is XD.
Okay, this part is important. THEY ARE SELLING IT AT 2RMB PER STICK. SRSLY THAT IS LIKE 42CENTS IN SG.
IT TASTES  DAMM GREAT TOO - my friends.

After 1 hour here, its time to go :(

OFF TO DINNER!

On the way to dinner, we saw this brightly lit area. That place should be Hongyadong.
Note that it was still quite early at this time.

And when we reached, TADAH it became so dark.
Ps. This is the restaurant that we ate in. It Halal certified so dear Muslim friends, there is food for you in China!

Apparently, they serve fries. We call it the Chongqing Fries. It's basically fries plus chili powder :)
Okay, THIS IS DA BOMB MAN.
As you know me, I don't really take prawns. But this dish right here changed my opinion about prawns. I ate like almost half of this bowl (Not that I'm selfish but not many actually took the prawns)
The prawns were REALLY fresh and the spices mixed really well with the prawn itself.
Omg thinking back makes me hungry again.
These are the rest of the dishes!
This meal consisted of 12 dishes too! They really feed us well.

While walking to our bus, we saw another Halal restaurant.
So Muslim friends, come and experience Chongqing!

After dinner, we checked into Baixiang Hotel and that's it for day 1!! Stay tuned for day 2!

Ps. There will be a seperate post on the hotel reviews.
