DAY 2 IN CHONG QING

Breakfast

We had our breakfast at the Baixiang hotel lobby!

Look closely, that green thingy you see there, it's actually noodles.
And besides that, there is porridge and some special rice porridge, and condiments.
The best thing here is the noodles. But well, I'm not going to recommend it to people who have high cholesterol for there is a risk of myocardial infraction or thrombosis or.. okok kidding.
What I wanna say is that the noodles were soaked in oil. There's no soup... I mean the soup is oil.. I mean .. okay never mind. IT'S DELICIOUS THO.

And there's 3 different kinds of mantou and some vegetables

At the other side of the table, there's cakes, biscuits, and oranges.
And the only drink they serve is soya bean.

I had always looked forward to any hotel lobby meals but mmm the noodles here would do for my whole breakfast.
Oh yea, they gave an egg to everyone too.

After breakfast, we head down in search for our bus.

We walked past people's houses and finally reached...

...The stairs.
We had to go down this longggg longggggg flight of stairsssssss.
Not complaining about the height of the stairs but the stairs were irregular.
One slip and you will be happily rolling down the stairs. Just kidding.
People with acrophobia (fear of height) would definitely need someone to accompany.

Just look at the height man.

Raffles City Chongqing (朝天朝天扬帆)

Background: Raffles City Chongqing is a project by CapitaLand and China.
Till date, it is the highest investment made from Singapore in China.
The towers are split into a few parts.
There are levels for shopping, part of the blocks for hotel and long-term stays, and many more amenities.

We finally reached the Raffles City Chongqing!
Doesn't the infrastructure remind you of something in Singapore?

The view here is great too!

So time for some photos!
There's more but the rest are unglams so...

Sweet la you two.

It will look something like this after completion.

Inside the showroom, they have a model of the whole Chongqing. It is

This a small scale model of the building what will be completed in the coming years.

This is the view from the first tower.
Isn't it beautiful?
The higher you go, the more beautiful it gets.

Lunchtime!

So we came to this shopping mall which idk the name of it.
But the location tag in my phone is 'Jing Jing La Ding Wu Ju Le Bu Pei Xun Zhong Xin, QiXingGang, Yuzhong Qu, Chongqing Shi, China, 400065

This is the restaurant that we went to for lunch.

It's the very first restaurant which serves us beer on the table instead of Coke and Sprite.

This 'dan dan noodles' (担担面) is one of the dishes in this meal.
The noodles were really chewy and the soup was damn thick and creamy.
Lowkey hoping for every meal to serves this.

Okay, so I have something to say about this.
This is the mushroom omelet and the mushroom here is really different from what we have in Singapore.
It is really dammmm nice and fresh so I took more of the mushroom than the omelet itself.
These are the rest of the dishes!
Dish count: 12 (If I'm not wrong)

ChangAn company (长安机器厂)

Background: Chang An automobile is a company from Chong Qing which is one of the top Chinese Automakers. It specializes in creating cars and its auto-driving system. One test drive from Chongqing to Beijing had already been completed!

We had a tour around Chang An manufacturing factory but unfortunately,
we were unable to take pictures inside :(
I was really impressed at how they can make a car within minutes or seconds
(I can't really remember) tho.

After the tour at the factory, we head on to the showroom.
Lowkey hoping for them to give us a car each as souvenirs. HAHA JKJK

This is the very first Jeep made by the company itself!

There was even a video introduction of the company's history, timeline, and specifications of each car and model!

After the introduction, we had some time to roam around the showroom.
Look at Bowennie!

This is the engine of the half fuel half electricity run car!

Look at this car they have.
Gonna be bling bling on the road man.

Yang Tze River Ropeway (长江索道)

Next, we hop on this Cable car for a shortcut across Yang Tze River!

It was so squeezy inside the cable car!

But isn't the view breathtaking?

We tried to take a picture but it was too squeezy. Oh wells

More views from the cable car!

Short video of the ride!

Jie Fang Bei (解放碑)

This is Jie Fang Bei!

Right after we alight, we saw this shop selling something identical to churros and my friend got it immediately.

Okay, once they have tried, they couldn't stop.
They went back for more.

There were 4 flavors, namely original, chocolate, strawberry, and matcha.
I got the strawberry one.
Taste wise was OK. It wasn't as sweet as you thought it would be. I guess even diabetic could have a taste of this.

After finishing those 'churros', we needed to find the dustbin.
And guess what I saw..

The labels were wrong! Guess they can't blame anyone else when they start to sort the rubbish.

Oh yea, this is the original people's liberation monument Chongqing!

While walking to Hongyadong complex, we saw this beautiful building called the Guotai art center!

After walking for about 5-10 mins, we finally reached the Hongyadong complex!

We only had around 45 mins here and some of us quickly got some snacks here.
It was supposed to be a quick snack but we end up waiting for 10-15 mins here for them to BBQ the mean and make the bubble teas.

Next, we spent around 10 plus mins to look for halal food and guess what we ended up eating.

HAHAHA yes we ate pizza hut.

So we spent another half hour waiting for our food and someone had to gobble his STEAK in 3 minutes due to time constraint.

I bought this lasagna ...

Took a bite... and then dabao AHAHAH

We all dabao food back tho. There wasn't enough time for us to eat peacefully and allow me to share a short story.

As the meeting place was quite far away from the pizza hut, we quickly foot our bills and ran back to the meeting point. We were already late. Our fellow Muslim friends helped us to explain that we were late because it was hard to find Muslim food here. But that's not the point. From the meeting point, we walked all the way back to just OPPOSITE PIZZA HUT as our bus was parked there. HAHA WE HAD A GREAT LAUGH MAN. My fellow friend could have used 5 mins to gobble up his steak instead of just 3 XXD.

After dinner, it is time to head back to the Hotel. Same hotel as day 1.

Look at the leftover food.
I have to confess that the Pizza Hut in China was REALLY good though.
Their menu was really interesting. If u look closely, the pizza consists of 4 different flavors!
This is something SG Pizza Hut doesn't have!
The side dishes and all were really nice too! Unlike SG where they only give mushroom soup or garlic bread.
One thing to note. China's Pizza Hut does not have garlic bread though.

All in all Day 2 was a tiring and rushed day which I've enjoyed nonetheless. In the midst of rushing and running, I got to learn more and bond more with my friends. It's a blessing in disguise!

This is the end of day 2. Onwards to day 3!!
