Its DAY 3 and we each had a "breakfast set" packed in a plastic bag for us from BaiXiang Hotel.
Well, we had to leave hotel quite early so we got no time for breakfast.
There was also hard boiled eggs in a basket beside all the plastic bags and not many took it.
HARTEC Company Visit
I felt like an important guest when I saw this at the entrance to Hartec.
It 9am in the morning and we had to split into groups.
![]() |
| Apparently, Hartec cleared out their level 2 for us to use. Hope it does not affect their production rate for the day! They even had a banner on top to welcome us! |
Our program at Hartec Technology started with Mr. Covan Low giving his self-introduction. From there, we realized that the company had no support from China's bank and they had to save every cent they can!
After Mr. Low's introduction, Mr. Hwang De Yang took over to give an introduction to the company. After the introduction, a video of the process of desizing glass was played for us to understand more.
After all the introductions, we get to have a short tour of their working environment of coating parts of the computer!
Firstly, the workers will apply a coat of chemical to remove excess particles during manufacturing of the parts using a brush.
This is the part of the laptop that they will be coating.
Secondly, there will be a round of visual inspection whereby the workers will ensure that the product does not have any faults. If any faults are found during this phase, it can be refunded back to the original seller to prevent losses of the company.
Next, the parts are cases into this blocks and are sent to the machine for coating. The workers were really professional as they are able to put the parts into the case within a specified time limit before it was sent to the machine! The workers were really well trained! The workers are like robots!
This picture shows the part after spraying with copper and (stainless steel). Not all places are sprayed as the coat may harm the final product!
After that, the QC analyst will take a few of the batch to check for quality. This includes the size of the parts and the thickness of the coat. If the QC were to find any faults, the whole batch would be discarded.
Finally, there would be a final round of visual inspection to ensure that every tiny part of the item is in order! Wow, they are really careful in everything they do!!
After the tour, we got a chance to ask questions!
Not to forget that I'm here for a school module!
It's lunchtime!
ps. This is the meal that Hartec give the workers every day. Seems like we got a drumstick as a top-up.
So here marks the end of my visit to Hartec and here's my group photo.
ps. This is the day where I got my nickname 'Detective Kenneth'
Chongqing University
I forgot to take a picture of the entrance so this became my opening picture.
The teachers led us to one of the classrooms where the students were already seated.
At every bench, they provided us with snacks, drinks, and even fruits!
My friends were too fascinated by it and they began rummaging for food before the event even starts.
After a speech by one of the teachers, there is a FASHION SHOW by US!
So basically we showed them some of the costumes of different races in Singapore.
Don't they look great?
Next, there was a presentation given by one of their students on his project.
Through this activity, their school is showing us what their students are capable of.
After the presentation, their students came up with performances for us to watch! Look at how talented their students are!
So the person who plays the Er Hu can play guitar well too!
After the performances, we went to their school field to carry out our dance lesson with them.
Well, we only have less than half an hour so... It did not turn out well I guess
Ps. He was one of the singer above^^ (the one sitting down).
After the dance lesson, we head to their Chongqing University Museum.
On the way there we saw beautiful sceneries.
This lady here was the speaker for my group!
She was really professional and she could recite the whole history of CQ university without any notes! We were stressed over her throat as she went on talking for the next 30 minutes without stopping.

These were what the ancient students study.

And on the way back, we saw this ancient building.
It's actually the principal's office.
Wow, just wow.
Ciqikou Ancient Town (磁器口古镇)
This is the view of Ciqikou from the carpark.
Looks like some haunted house right? XD
Not to worry, the place isn't ulu (rural or deserted) at all!
(Picture was taken from the net cos I forgot to take)
So I heard that Ma Hua is a definite must-try food in Chongqing, so my friends and I went to the shop with the longest queue.
(Taken from the net too)
So this is the shop without a queue. Selling the exact same brand.
These are some of the flavors for tasting.
It cost around 15 to 18RMB/500g
Flavors that are more expensive, (80RMB/500g) were not given out for tasting.
These are some of the flavors that I had bought back. (15RMB/500g ~3.15SGD)
It's DAMMMMMM NICE.
This cost 80RMB ~16.70SGD
Not sure why the price is so different tho.
(I'll give a rating after I've tried)
HAHAHA YEAP!
It's 17Degrees and I'm eating ice cream!
It tastes damn good though.
There were real mango bits and the vanilla ice cream is pure heaven!
Hongyadong Cultural Village (洪崖洞)
Yes, we are back in Hongyadong?
It looks really different from the Hongyadong complex on day 2...?
Yea, I definitely do not recognize this.
Anyways, we were here for dinner
We were served beer once again.
![]() |
| Yea, they served us another kind of Chongqing nuggets |
![]() |
| Everyone was crazy over this duck and waited for 15mins more but I'm not a duck person... Couldn't comment more. Should have gone out shopping instead of waiting with them. |
![]() |
| THIS POTATO IS DAMM GOOD. I ALMOST FINISH THE WHOLE PLATE WHILE WAITING FOR THAT DUCKIE. |
And these are the rest of the food~~
After dinner, we went out to the waiting place...
Oh, I remembered the bridge at the right corner of the photo.
BACK TO HOTEL
Yeap! It's time to try local cup noodles!
Look at all the seasonings.
There's the powder, the vinegar (which I didn't put), the sauce and the vegetables.
Well, this marks the end of my day 3 in Chongqing... Or maybe not.
So here's one of Alicia's snap.
OKAY STAY TUNE TO MY 4TH DAY IN CHONG QING!
